Kudremukh Peak:


  • No doubt,the scenic beauty of Kudremukh hills leave hypnotized and captivate you at the same time
  • It is situated at a height of around 1,894 m above the sea level.
  • 9km long trail takes 4 hours to reach the top
  • Morning 6 AM to 10 AM is the best enjoyable time in trekking.
  • Food is not available,so carry your food

Mullayanagiri:


  • It is the highest peak between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris
  • Stands at an altitude of 1,930 m above sea level.
  • It is recommended to walk and enjoy the untouched beauty of Mullayangiri.
  • There is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva on the top of the hill.One should climb 500 steps to reach the temple.
  • Experience a beautiful journey, surrounded by serene nature while trekking.

Baba Budangiri (DattaPeeta) :


  • Baba Budangiri is an amazing trek and also one among the important places to visit in Chikmagalur.
  • It is at an altitude of 1865 meters
  • Famous for DattatreyaPeetha for Hindus and has Dargah of Baba Budangiri for Muslims both under the same cave.
  • Timing: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Hebbe Falls:


  • 10 km away from the famous hill station Kemmangundi,located in Bhadra forest
  • This waterfall is inside a coffee estate and can be reached either by walk or Jeep (Cost: Around 400 per head)
  • Entry time: 6am – 6pm

Jhari Waterfalls:


  • Location: Thippanahalli Estate Rd, InamDattathreyaPeeta, Chikmagalur.
  • To Reach: need to hire jeeps to reach the spot (Cost Around 600 for 8 people)
  • Timing: 6am – 5pm

SringeriSharadamba Temple:


  • Devoted to Goddess Sharada built by Sri Shankaracharya
  • Every Friday night ChandramouleeshwaraPooja is performed here
  • Ritual of Aksharabhyasa performed here is considered to be sacred and fulfilling
  • located at the banks of river Tunga
  • Timing: 6am – 9pm

Z point Trek point:


  • Z point is a viewpoint near Kemmangundi and can be reached by a steep uphill trek of about 45 minutes from Raj Bhavan
  • Camping is possible here.
  • Timing: 8am – 5pm

TIPS & ADVISES

  • Checking for liquor bottles in vehicles are very common in Chikmagalur, So it’s not recommended to carry liquor bottles if you are crossing the check post
  • There is a complete ban on sale and supply of liquor at homestays.
  • It’s better to ride with skilled drivers as the roads are very curvy and also slippery during monsoons.
  • Carry hiking shoes,sweaters/jackets
  • Do not forget to taste the Chimaglur coffee and do not miss sunrise and sunsets at the viewpoints.
  • Jeep drivers may ask for higher fare for taking you to Hebbe Falls &Jhari waterfalls, So you need to bargain
